Our team

Nick Wood

Nick is the Managing Director of ICANN accredited registrar Com Laude, a boutique domain name management company based in London that works with a portfolio of leading global brands.

Nick is a member of the Leadership Group of the Intellectual Property Constituency of ICANN and was one of the three European members of the Implementation Recommendation Team appointed by the ICANN Board to propose measures to protect the rights of others in the new gTLD process which included first iterations of the Trade Mark Clearinghouse, the URS and the Post Delegation Dispute Resolution Procedure for complaints against bad actor registry operators. He is a Director of MARQUES, the European Association of Trade Mark Owners and is the co-ordinator of a not-for-profit bid for a Dot London. He was the editor of “The Perfect Sunrise” booklet outlining rights protection mechanisms in TLD launches which is now part of the gTLD core materials and chaired the ICANN London Consultation Day on Trade Mark Protections & Abusive Behaviours in the new gTLDs.

He is a Director and Council Member of MARQUES, the European Trademark Association, a committee Member for the International Trade Mark Association and a former member of the Advisory Board of the Czech Court of Arbitration. He sits on the Editorial Board of Managing Intellectual Property magazine and is the co‐author of “Domain Names: Global Practice and Procedure” published by Sweet & Maxwell.

Lorna Gradden

Lorna co-founded Net Searchers with Nick Wood in 1995, offering domain name management services to the corporate market.  Following Net Searchers’ sale to Register.com, she worked on domain name consultancy projects before joining VeriSign DBMS in 2003 as head of client management for EMEA, managing teams in Sweden, Norway, France and Germany.  In 2005, she and Nick started Com Laude, where she continues to work as Operations Director, overseeing order fulfilment, registry relationships and information systems.  She is a frequent speaker at conferences and training events.  She holds a degree in law.
