Introducing the 5th edition of the Com Laude & Valideus Domain Name Gazetteer
Featuring articles on the future of internet governance and rights protection measures
The latest edition of the Com Laude & Valideus Domain Name Gazetteer, the comprehensive guide for brand owners, domain name specialists and IP experts navigating the new domain landscape of 1,600 domain name registries has been published.
The purpose of our Gazetteer is to help brand owners and IP professionals navigate the ever-changing world of domains. We have profiled every live registry in the world, summarising their formalities and providing an overview of their policies.
Following requests from our clients including IP and internet governance experts we have also included three articles on matters which will shape domain name practice and policy in 2018 – dot brands which match geographic names, best practice in corporate domain portfolio management and potential upcoming changes to the UDRP.
Today there are more than 330 million registered domains spread across ca. 1,230 legacy and new gTLD registries and 400 country code registries. The domain name system in total in 2017 grew by nearly 7 million domains.
The world of domains is changing and yet their utility as signposts to authentic goods and services remains consistent. We hope that you find this Gazetteer of use and invite you to contact us with any questions about the world of domains and the services we provide.
